Use this handy pocket guide to learn about Perl-Compatible Regular Expressions. This app contains a reference for metacharacters and escape sequences to help build expressons in the tester. The tester will validate and execute your pattern against a subject string you supply. An optional replacement string may be specified as well.

Jing is a gadget for taking screenshots and desktop videos.  It’s very easy to use! You can either upload it to screencast.com and share a link or save it locally.  Here’s a wee test:

TwitterFon is a simple, clean, easy to use, and fast Twitter client for your iPhone and iPod Touch.

TwitterFon is focused on easy to use and 80% of your tasks of Twitter such as view friends/replies/messages timeline and send/reply a tweet. Also, you can search tweets, upload your photos.

I have to admit, I rarely use VNC for anything serious, but this is one of my favorite apps to just play with.

Mocha VNC

Mocha VNC provides access to a VNC Server. Using your iPhone, you can connect to a Windows PC or Mac OS X and see the files, programs, and resources exactly as you would if you were sitting at your desk, just on a smaller screen.

There always has to be that first post.  The one where you explain what you’re trying to accomplish with your new blog.  Sort of like a mission statement or the “Objective” section of your resume.  So anyway, I am going to focus here mainly on iPhone applications and development.  I’m currently learning just that, but keeping my day job in the meantime.  Unfortunately, that means it’ll be slow going.  I find it hard to learn when I have to grab snatches of time here and there.  And, of course, I just took time out to set up this new blog….

Eventually, I hope you’ll be seeing lots of my own apps here, with links to the app store so you can buy lots of them so I can make a million bucks and retire and have a home in Austin and another home in Portland, and spend my days writing fun code or not or maybe just hanging out in coffee shops kinda like I do now, but with more money in the bank, maybe I’ll switch to cappuccinos instead of the cheap stuff, oh well, I shouldn’t worry about that yet.
